Playing and Sleeping

Avery playing with his new toys (this cool elephant and tool bench) that were gifts from his friends Olivia and Jason:

Playing with Olivia (and with her cool new Lightning McQueen car):

We often walk into Avery's room and find him sitting here reading stories. Here, he is reading his absolute favorite book; it is a book about baby animals and it has flaps to turn. All but one flap have been ripped out, but he still wants to read it all the time.

Since Avery was sick, his sleep schedule is still just a bit off (even though he is much healthier now!). He fell asleep in the car (not unusual, especially since it was late at night) but also in his highchair at breakfast (this has never happened before):

totally random picture of Carolyn's homemade monkey bread; she'd never made it before, but it turned out great!:

Christy, it is so good! I don't know how exactly to make it, but Carolyn says it is easy and the outcome is this cool-looking bread that you pull apart into little pieces. She made it with raisins, walnuts, cinnamon and sugar and pieces of apple and glazed it with a homemade caramel sauce. It was ridiculously good (she made it for work, but made a practice one for us to share with some friends).

Monkey bread is good. That sounds way fancier than what I've done. You use pillsbury bisquit dough, cut it into pieces, roll it in melted butter, cinnamon, and sugar, and voila!

These pictures are awesome. I know I just saw him, but he looks SO OLD (in a great way)...I love how studious he looks with his toys/books. Perhaps due to growing up in such an academic household. :)
