Wednesday night, Avery was up crying literally all night. We knew something was wrong and suspected an ear infection (although he wasn't giving us signs like pulling on his ears -- he had had a cold, and we just didn't know what else it could be). Carolyn took him to the doctor first thing Thursday morning and it was confirmed that Avery had a very bad double ear infection plus conjunctivitis in both eyes! Poor baby! He is tricky about not feeling well; he is such a happy guy that he really doesn't let us know that he isn't feeling well until things are really really bad. Once he got some antibiotics and eye drops, he felt much better and has been much more cheerful this weekend. Carolyn stayed home with him both Thursday and Friday, so by tonight they were especially feeling cabin feverish so we all went out to dinner at the California Pizza Kitchen where Avery was very good. We went to the bird store next door where Avery adored looking at all the brightly colored parrots. We are gearing up for our last week at work before we leave for St. Louis for Christmas; hopefully we'll all be healthy then!

i really like the back view of him in his Mickey jacket. He looks badass. And the one with him in wrapping paper is super cute!
