"Avery Baby" going to school

Avery is a very big boy. He's so big that the other (older) kids at his daycare forget that he's a baby. Lately, a couple of the kids have been tattling on him, saying that he doesn't help pick up the blocks and toys. Belen keeps reminding them that even though he is big, Avery is just a baby, and that he is learning to pick up just like they had to when they were babies. She has had to remind her own daughter, Belencita, who is 3 but much smaller than Avery, to not be too rough with Avery because "he's just a baby, even though he is big." So now, his nickname is "Avery Baby" or "Baby Avery." But he does seem to be learning about cleaning up. He loves to "help" by organizing things. He likes to throw all of his bath toys into the bathtub even when he's not going to take a bath, because he knows that's where they belong. Why would they be put away in a plastic bucket when they could be thrown into the bathtub? For a while, he was taking everything (like books) off of shelves, but he doesn't do that anymore. Now he likes to reorganize things instead. At Hannah and Dale's house, he kept going into their back porch room and taking bottles of beer out of their case and empty dog food bowls off the floor and putting them all in one big tupperware storage container. He did this several times during the course of the 1 1/2 days we were there. So clearly, he felt strongly about where these things should properly go. And he does know the clean up song: "Clean up, clean up, everybody everywhere, clean up clean up, everybody do your share." So we imagine he'll be pitching in a bit more at daycare soon enough.
