New (Big) Shoes for our (Big) Boy


Avery's large feet were one of the first things we noticed about him after he was born.

13 months later, we finally took Avery to Stride Rite to get him some good shoes. The woman there measured his feet and declared him to be a "7 extra wide" -- not just "wide" but EXTRA wide. He has high arches too. Poor baby, I don't know if this means that he will always have really wide feet (and so have difficulties finding shoes); the first pair of shoes they brought us was NERDY (plain white shoes with big velcro straps that seemed to exaggerate the width of Avery's feet) but we were able to find some "cool" shoes that fit him. No nerdy shoes for our boy! These sneakers are really for this Fall (and they were on sale, yay!) but we also found a pair of sandals on the clearance rack that fits Avery for now.

his shoes are so cute! i can't believe how big he's gotten in just over a year!
