I could post long stories about Avery's arrival (32 hours of labor...an epidural 5 hours after the request...and the c-section finale), but those pictures are not nearly as cute or interesting. These are the pictures we took of each other as soon as we were admitted. Now, neither of us is looking particularly spiffy....but we got a whole lot uglier. I will spare you those.
A couple of nice things we want to remember...
We asked the cab driver to bring us GENTLY to Roosevelt hospital...he drove 15 miles an hour the whole way and wished us luck!
Rebecca's labor was so long that our favorite nurse, Michael, worked 2 twelve hour shifts while we were there. He was wonderful and told our Attila the hun (evening shift) nurse to take an extra long dinner break so he could stay with us a little longer. Our nerves were totally shot until he stepped in.
Dr. Simon actually switched shifts with the attending at Roosevelt (she was at St. Luke's) so she would deliver us (I think she suspected the residents were not being all that good to us). I now think that she was hiding a halo in all of our previous meetings.
