Happy 2nd Birthday, Caleb!
For Caleb's 2nd birthday, we had a Curious George themed birthday party at daycare. And we decided that, instead of a big party, we'd go to the train motel in Pennsylvania for a long weekend. It was a good choice!
Belen gave Caleb this wonderful fire truck. It has blocks inside, but he still has not found them yet, and it doesn't matter. He is loving just playing with the truck itself!

First camping trip at Beaver Pond campsite
It started with an episode of Sesame Street in which Elmo goes camping. Then we saw an episode of Sid the Science Kid, where Sid goes camping in his backyard with his dad and a friend from school. Avery started asking to go camping, and so I started to look at Craig's list for a tent, sleeping bags, etc. We set a weekend in September to go camping and hoped for nice weather. Genevieve had recently gone camping, and she thought I might need another adult. Josh and Jason decided to join us. It was great having so many friends there, and we had a wonderful time. Carolyn and Caleb surprised us! They drove up in the evening and made s'mores with us. Then they returned to the comfort of our home -- Carolyn refuses to camp. But that's okay (for now) because Caleb is too little anyway. In a couple more years . . . we may need to convince her to come along.

City Adventure, Summer 2012
Once in a while, we escape our Westchester bubble and go into the city for a family "city adventure." Today's adventure included riding the train into Grand Central station where we ate Magnolia Bakery cupcakes for breakfast; going to the Central Park zoo (both the children's zoo and the regular zoo); and playing at a playground. Very fun!
