Halloween 2010

Well, it was Caleb's first Halloween and Avery's third. Avery refused to wear his adorable dinosaur costume at either his daycare party or for trick or treating. But Caleb was willing to wear his skeleton onesie! The daycare party was adorable, as usual. Then we went up to Katonah to see the boys' great aunt and uncle and cousins and go trick or treating. Avery and Jonah went to the parade (even though Avery only had a skeleton shirt on as his costume), and then had SO much fun jumping in a huge leaf pile! Avery finally "got" what trick or treating is; we went to probably a dozen houses. At first, I held his hand and coached him to say "trick or treat" and "Thank you." Then, as he noticed the older kids running up to the doors themselves, he broke away from me to be more independent. A few times he got mixed up and would say "thank you" before getting the candy and then "trick or treat" afterwards. But I don't think anyone minded!

Cute outfits and first bath

Poor Carolyn is back in the hospital for a few days to take care of her C-section wound. But luckily, her sister, Melanie, came to visit and to help out! Melanie and I gave Caleb his first at-home sponge bath (we have to wait until his belly button stub falls off to give him a real bath) and we picked out a cute outfit (everyone loves when there is something on the butt! In this case, it's a monkey):







Before Carolyn went back to the hospital, Caleb wore this bright green "Mommy Whaley Loves Me" onesie. I like this picture of him and Carolyn:

We propped Caleb up in his boppy pillow and a blanket on the couch; Avery took one look and ran to his room and came back with his own pillow and blanket:

Our first outing

Our first outing was just a short walk outside our building! Poor Carolyn had some complications from her C-section, and she ended up going back to the hospital. This was before she was readmitted to the hospital. Avery ran all over the place and put leaves on Caleb. Avery normally never rides in his stroller anymore, but we thought it would be funny to put both boys in their strollers this time:

For his coming-home-from-the-hospital outfit, we chose this elephant onesie that was a gift from Carolyn's boss, since it is adorable, elephant-themed, and newborn sized. Yes, all those 0-3 month sized outfits are too big! Unlike Avery, Caleb actually needs the newborn sized clothing and diapers because he is so little!
