Avery loves Mama's "itsy-bitsy spidability"

at the Zoo

We spent Mother's Day at the zoo with Gogo and Melanie who were visiting. Avery and I had both been a bit under the weather, but we were feeling well enough to enjoy the fresh air and see some animals:




Avery is SUCH a ham; he loves to say "cheese" and make this face for the camera. He squints his eyes and grins and says "cheeeeeeeese!"

Avery and I usually have breakfast together in the morning, and because conversations with him are, at this point, limited (I can only chat for so long about how we do NOT bite or hit other children, especially babies -- we got our first bad report ever from daycare the other day), we often read stories and/or color during breakfast. Avery likes to show off the words he has mastered:
